SUMMER CAMP
Kings & Queens Summer Camp
When a child enters the world of AKM Summer Camp, they will find an atmosphere that is challenging, exciting, and fun. It's a special place where kids grow as individuals and learn the skills needed to succeed as adults, where they gain confidence in themselves by tackling new activities and making new friends, and where much of the fun comes from surprising themselves with their newfound skills and accomplishments.
Fees for Camp
AKM Summer Camp is $250 per child, per session. Sessions are four weeks long and are for children Ages 8-16. Families with 2 or more campers can enroll at 50% discount and groups of 10 or more can enroll at a discounted rate.
2010 Session Dates
1st Session June 7th- July 2nd
2nd Session July 5th-July 30th
Each Session will include the following Themed Weeks:
Week 1 – Friendship
Focus: Trust in others, making new friends, meeting new people, reacquainting with old friends, respect.
Week 2 – African American Spirit
Focus: Respect, cooperation, meeting new challenges, inclusion, pride in yourself and your heritage.
Week 3 - Creativity
Focus: Creative problem solving, positive participation, group and individual responsibility.
Week 4 – Physical Fitness
Focus: Promoting good health, eating habits and physical strength.
